How to Look Up Carter County Arrests
Start with the source that answers the immediate question, then move through the other custodians. A current-custody search, an old arrest report, and a final case outcome require different channels.

The inspected base card did not show arrest location, officer, warrant number, magistrate, court date, bond amount, release date, housing pod, or medical and security flags. Do not infer those facts from their absence.

The event location and responding officer determine which office holds the arrest narrative. A county booking does not transfer ownership of a city or state report to the sheriff.

Johnson City's county line deserves special care. A JCPD report remains with the city, but the incident address determines whether the resulting state case belongs in Carter County or another county.
Recent Arrests and Booking Logs
Carter County's roster displays current cards rather than a permanent chronological blotter. A card can show the booking name, inmate ID, physical descriptors, booking photograph, and booked time. “View Charges” expands the allegations. “Notify Me of Status Change” provides a status route. When a card disappears, the safest conclusion is only that the person is no longer in the displayed roster population. It does not state whether the person posted bond, was released without charges, transferred, received a dismissal, or entered another custody system. Call the jail for immediate clarification, request the old booking material from sheriff records, and check the clerk for the court outcome.
Carter Arrests Reach TBI by Fingerprint
At intake, a custodial arrest creates fingerprints and a booking identity. Reportable misdemeanor and felony fingerprints move into the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation repository process. That is why TORIS is not a search of every Carter County police narrative. A name query checks repository information built from fingerprint submissions and later disposition reports.
Gaps can occur when fingerprints, names, or dispositions do not align. TORIS omits aliases from the returned match process and excludes most juvenile information. Carter County Warrant Arrest Records
A warrant arrest adds an issued warrant and a return or execution record. A warrantless arrest depends on the officer's probable-cause account and prompt court review. A citation can create a court trail without the same jail booking record. Carter County has no verified public active-warrant database, and the inmate roster is not a warrant search.
